about

The well-loved Toronto reggae band The Human Rights have spent all summer recording their new album at Phase One Studios in Toronto. Produced by Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar, the new LP will showcase the band in its purest form. No fancy overproduction here, just the pure organic sounds of bass, brass and a real Hammond B3 organ caught on two-inch tape at one of Toronto’s finest studios. The first single off the album is a perfect testament to it’s sound. “LION HEART” is an original Human Rights composition with pulsing drums, jazzy horns and twisting bass lines seasoned with Friendly’s uplifting lyrics and Treson’s soulful back ups.
